So far this summer....

Wow!  I have a lot to catch up on.  Since the last post it seems like so much has happened.  I think it seems that way because the girls are getting bigger everyday!  Time is flying by too quickly!  Not in any order, from March until now.... here is a tid-bit of what the Pendleton's have been doing!

Laney completed her first year of pre-school!  They had a small casual graduation for the kids who are moving on to Kindergarten.  There is only Laney and one other who are not starting Kindergarten next year so theylet Laney and the other girl participate with the rest of their class.
I got a lot of video of the graduation and only one picture!  This is Laney and her BFF Jamie.

Laney has learned so much this year.  She knows ALL of her letters (sometimes she messes up though).  She knows ALL of the sounds that the letters make (This too she can make mistakes but not very often!).  She is able to count to 20. Laney knows her address, and my phone number! She knows basic shapes up to hexagon and octagon.  She is able to write most of the letters.  The other day she brought me a piece of paper with the words "cat", "mom", "dad" and "Laney". She is starting to read, and it is very fun!
In May I walked/jogged the Ogden Half Marathon.  I did it with two women from our WC's. I joined Hometown Heros for Huntsman and raised money for cancer research.   I raised $970.00.  I did it in honor of my Uncle Bob who died of Colon Cancer last October.  It was quite surreal.  I was supposed to raise a minimum of 500.00!  It was a great experience!

There was a Petting Zoo/Baby Animal Days in town and we went to it.  Laney rode a horse for her first time!  (She is scared of dogs, but got on this huge thing just fine!)  She wanted to do it over and over, but the line was huge!

Since we are still living in Grandma's house, we get to "help" Grandpa Burton mow the lawn.  Laney loves to sit on this with her Grandpa and her dad!  (I think they like it too!)

We have a season pass to Cherry Hill.  My parents gave it to Laney and I for Christmas this last year!  The girls love it!

MOAB!
We went to Moab with some of the Burton's and many of the Poll Family.  I think there was a total of 61 of us there.  We all stay at the same condo... Well separate condos but all together...Make sense?  We went swimming, hiking and hung out.  We had a good time!  Scott had to work so I went solo with the girls.  My mom and sister went solo as well.  It was a great trip and we can't wait for next years!

Little Reese is getting so big.  She loves her Binky and her blanket.  Both of which made it to the arch with her!  She is starting to get more and more vocal.  She says (in her own language that only parents can understand... baba (bottle), mama, dada, all done, fish,  and apple. (She might say more but that is all I can think of now.)

                                                                   The Burton Clan.
All of the Poll Clan.

Reese went swimming for her first time and LOVED IT!

We got our first snow cone of the season.... I think they liked them!

Hogle Zoo!
We did our annual trip to the zoo this week.  The girls loved it!  While on the train, we saw the buffalo and goats and birds etc.  When we saw the goats, Laney got really excited and asked if they were dogs!  Kind of funny.

Reese loved the animals more than I thought she would.  She would wave and blow kisses to them.

We are having a great summer and hope that you are too!

Our Sunbeam and Reese is 1!

Laney "graduated" from nursery and moved on to be a "big" kid!  She is a Sunbeam!  Scott has been the one taking her to her class.  He told her that the cool place to sit is the front row.  Every week now right after the closing prayer in sacrament, it is like a mad dash with her dad to get to the front row!  It is pretty darn cute!

Before Sunbeams, Laney was scared of dying and always asked questions.  Lately she describes it as: "I get to go to heaven and be Heavenly Father's helper.  I like Heavenly Father.  Do you Mom?  I like Jesus too.  Do you like Jesus Mom?"  It is really cute!

I surprised Scott on Christmas with some tickets to Brian Reagan.  We went and it was AWESOME! We had a great date night!
Laney has been complaining of stomach aches for several months now, so after blood work and x-rays and multiple visits to her doctor, we went to a specialist at Primary Children's.  We made a day of it and went to the mall and did Build a Bear and lunch!  She loves her new bear named "Lucy"!  (She was diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome.  Because we caught it at a young age, HOPEFULLY a few months of some meds, and that will CURE it!

We have a new neighbor (Cal Ranch).  We went to see the baby chicks!  Both girls loved them.

My niece is a cheerleader at Clearfield High.  To support her, and because I thought Laney would have a blast, we signed her up for the mini cheer camp!  She loved it until the performance!  She cried and cried, until they started the music.  Once they started the song she knew, she started to dance and became quite comfortable.  Then at the end, she did the cheer and now she asks when we will get to go to cheer leading again!

Reese is 1!

Reese turned 1 the beginning of March.  Laney was a very good helper with presents and opening up gifts!  Reese had fun, but really had no clue what was going on.... like all 1 year olds!  She was sure cute though!
She got a glow worm.....and LOVES it!
She tried grabbing the flame on the candle, but dad saved her!
Waiting for her cake!  NAKED! (with a diaper!)
 She loved it!
 Her saying "All done"!

Little Reese, has been such a delight and such a blessing this last year!  Her sister is her best friend.  They get along so stinking cute and they really are friends.  They laugh at each other, chase each other, tackle each other.... When I get to school to get them, they are more excited to see each other than to see me!  Reese started walking at 10 months!  She took her first steps Christmas Eve.  She gives high fives, says no, uh-oh, mama and is really good at spiting!  She sleeps from about 6:60 pm to 7 am, waking up once for a bottle (sometimes).  She loves toast and broccoli.  She also has a sweet tooth!  She has given us a couple kisses but does not do it all the time.  She says hi "a" and puts anything up to her ear to pretend she is on the phone.  We are so grateful for her sweet spirit and joy she brings each of us!  Happy Birthday "Reesey Poo!"

December

December was a blast!  Every year my high school friends have the Annual Christmas Party!  Dinner and white elephants and good company.  This year we gave an old fashion hair dryer that we found at my grandma's house when we moved in.  I gotta be honest, it is probably one of the better white elephants that we have given!  Cameron is the one that got it.  He had to try it out!

We decided this year to start a family tradition.  The Burton's decided that we will start with the oldest sibling and every year go to the next down.  The person in charge is to find someone who needs some help during the holidays and as a family we will help them.  Brady thought it would be good to do a sub-for-santa for the Christmas Box House.  We all met at a Wal-Mart and bought the gifts for some kids.  We got EVERYTHING on their lists.  It was so much fun and the kids really enjoyed helping someone else out.  That is what Christmas is all about, helping those around us!  After we bought the gifts we went to Iggy's for dinner!  It was a lot of fun, and I can't wait to do it again next year!  I hope that it teaches Laney and Reese how to give to others and enjoy the true spirit of Christmas.

We went to Fresh Market to see SANTA!  It was free and no lines!  It worked for us this year!  Laney asked for a purple bike and a popsicle!  Reese was just confused!
We had our annual Poll party!  We have dinner and then games and more games and a spiritual thought in the end.  This year the Nativity part came right after dinner.  It was too cute!  Laney was Mary and posed so well on stage.... After everyone was off the stage she sat their smiling for the camera all alone, she was very proud.

Can't forget the lights at the park!  We were to lazy to get out this year, so we just drove around in our car.  Reese enjoyed driving.... not really, we were at a stand still for this picture!
I love sleeping pictures....look at those cheeks!
On Christmas Eve Laney and Reese got some pajamas from mom and dad.  We made cookies for Santa and left him some milk!  Laney asked us if Santa would leave her one!
Santa left her one and a half!

Reese opened up a rattle that was just like mine when I was a baby...huh, Imagine that!  :) She also got a dress from grandma and grandpa Pendleton, some toys and clothes from the Burton Grandparents!  Brady's family bought her a walker and she loves it!  Reese also took about 5-6 steps on her own on Christmas Eve...little stink, she is not even 10 months old.
Laney opened up a princess barbie...Okay she got every princess barbie size, thanks to Target selling them ALL  in one box!  She also got a purple Tangled bike!  She loved her princess band-aids that Santa left in her stocking!  When she woke up, I thought she would be a bit more excited, but she was really confused.  She came out looking for Santa thinking she would get to see him.  Once she started opening gifts, she was happy and excited!  She was so excited that Santa left her a cookie!
 Reese loved the wrapping paper!

One of Brady's kids drew Laney's name for Christmas, and believe it or not.....she got the crazy hair Lalaloopsy dolls!  (Just an FYI,,,,that was one of the hard gifts to find this year...HUGE demand!)
In December we put the girls in the same room.  For a while it was not working.  I would walk in to check on them and Laney would run from the crib to her room to pretend she was asleep!  Reese gave it away by growling and talking to her.
Laney opened up the game Candy Land after church because Santa (the silly guy) forgot to put it under the tree and left it in the storage room!  She loves it.  She also loves to make up her own rules!
Scott and I have been married 7 years this December.  We talk about it all the time..about how 7 years ago we would of laughed if someone told us we would have two wonderful little girls.  We would of laughed if someone told us we would get excited to go to Sam's club almost weekly, date night that consists of watching the news, bathing little girls on a Friday night and having a blast doing it!

The year 2011 was a great year for us.  We created many memories and had a lot of fun and grew quite a bit.  We added a member to our family, I got a new job, went on some trips, changed wards, just to name a few.  We are excited to see what joy and experiences the year 2012 will bring!
